Well, after a week in New York, I decided to spend this week in my portfolio. Before came to Washington, I read in one of the TWC’s blogs that earlier we finished that, better for us.
My research project was about the Fifth Summit of the Americas and my perspectives. It was really interesting for me reading and writing about that living here, in DC, a city that you breathe politics.
However, my favorite parts of the Portfolio were the informational interviews. Probably because I am journalist… Who knows? Bruno Garcez and Asdrubal Figueiro, both journalist of BBC, and Miriam Brandao, from IAF, were very easy to talk with. And write an interview in English was one of the best experiences I’ve had.
Saturday I went to Atlantic City with the TWC staff and students. It was my first time in a casino, and I have to admit I didn’t like so much. Most of the people that were there seemed poor and spent time and money with gambles. Very sad, for me. The city was nice, though. Feel the water of Atlantic Ocean in other country was… cold. Very cold.
In my second last Sunday in DC, I decided go to American History Museum. And it was about exactly what the name says, so it wasn’t my favorite at all. But I went to the Natural History Museum again to make sure I had seen all, and I was glad I went: I hadn’t seen a lot of things, like the Mammals and the Soil sections.
I finished my day going to see Obama Hope’s picture at National Portrait Gallery, in Chinatown. And, finally, went to try a delicious dessert at The Cheesecake Factory. A sweet end of week.
